Hanging of the Greens
We make a point to talk about how important community is to Buffalo Seminary, how our community sets us apart and makes us who we are. There may be no tradition that exemplifies that spirit of community more than Hanging of the Greens. Hanging of the Greens is a day dedicated to embracing that magic of the holiday season. It begins with the entire community coming together outside to pass the greens from hand to hand, from class to class before coming inside to brighten our Chapel and spaces.
Ms. Drozd shared a beautiful original reading that encapsulated the meaning of the day and can be seen here. Students spent the day with one another crafting, decorating, and learning more about the special holiday traditions of other cultures. Our spirit of community extended beyond our walls to the community with toy and clothing drives for those in need.
Students and adults alike danced, laughed, and enjoyed being in the company of each other. And what better testament to the spirit of the season, the spirit of community than the joyful music that filled 十大彩票平台 at the end of the day? A very special thank you to all of the teachers and students who spent weeks preparing for and creating a day that will live on long past the season. |

Book Discussion Group for Parents
Our Meet the Teacher follow-up survey revealed that parents are interested in a book discussion group with 十大彩票平台’s Health & Wellness Team. After a few months of research and reading, we have decided on Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic, and What We Can Do About It by Jennifer Breheny Wallace. This book is available by eBook and eAudiobook at your local Buffalo library, and is also available to purchase on Amazon or any bookstore. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the following google form by Friday, December 15th. At that time, we will reach out with further information, provide a timeline and discussion questions for our reading, and schedule a meeting date.
Thank you, Health & Wellness Team |
